[SHICKEN] Butter Curry 350g [vegan] - Medium
Butter Chicken (in our case Butter Shicken) or the local name in India (Murgh Makhani) is one of the most popular North Indian curries served in Indian restaurants across the UK and India.
Another curry that originates from the Northern state of India, traditionally the Butter chicken curry is made with the leftovers of Chicken Tikka, where chicken has been marinated in a tikka and tandoori marinade, cooked on a coal fire or tandoor oven. The leftovers of the chicken tikka are then cooked in a Butter curry sauce.
Now that’s the history of this dish, obviously we at Shicken applied our #theshickeneffect, marinating our Shicken pieces overnight in our vegan yogurt, tikka and tandoori spice marinade. We then cook our marinated pieces on a live flame to obtain a BBQ char to our pieces and then smother them in our butter vegan curry sauce.
With our Butter curry sauce, we start with a base of finely chopped and fried onions to which we add our unique vegan spice mix, tomatoes, cashew paste and vegan yogurt to replicate the creamy taste and flavour of a really butter curry.
The finishing touch for our Shicken Butter curry is blending our sauce to a smooth silky texture and then covering our Shicken pieces completely with Butter curry sauce.
Ingredients: Shicken Pieces (Textured Soya Fibre, Isolated Soya Powder, Water, Soya bean oil, Corn Starch) (20%), Butter Sauce & Marinade, Onion, Water, Coconut Yogurt, Cashew Nut, Melon Seeds, Tomato Paste, Refined Sunflower Oil, Vegan Butter, Garlic, Ginger, Salt, Ground Spices (Paprika,Turmeric, Fenugreek Leaves, Black Cardamom, Cumin Seeds, Coriander Seeds), Sugar, Coriander Leaves.

Pan Cook From Chilled: Pre-heat a frying pan on a medium heat. Remove the card sleeve, unclip the lid and pour the meal into the pan, add 1-2 tablespoons of water, heat until piping hot.
Microwave Cook: Remove the card sleeve, unclip the lid and use as cover, place the tray with the lid in the microwave. Cook from chilled for 4 mins on 800W, remove lid and stir the contents, half way through until piping hot. Leave to stand for 1 min before enjoying. Cook from frozen for 4 mins on 800W, remove lid and stir the contents, replace lid and heat for a further 3 mins until piping hot. Leave to stand for 1 min before enjoying!
Oven Cook: Preheat oven. Remove the card sleeve and lid, place the tray on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. Stir halfway through. Re-cover and continue cooking. Oven cook from chilled. 190°C. Fan 170°C. Gas 5. 25 mins. From frozen. 190°C. Fan 170°C. Gas 5. 40 mins.
